Shopping During the Holidays
Staff Writer Gabriella Leone
If you didn’t go shopping on Black Friday, the shopper’s dream day of discounts, long lines, and pushy shoppers, then don’t fret; there are still plenty of places offering holiday sales.
Shopping online is your best bet. You don’t have to waste gas driving anywhere and you can compare prices within minutes and search for great sale prices. Other than your favorite stores, check out www.amazon.com and www.DeepDiscounts.com. On these websites, it’s Black Friday every day!
Tyson’s Corner and Fair Oaks Mall combined have over 400 stores, so it’s fairly easy to get frustrated and leave or feel overwhelmed and spend too much money. Go to the mall with a game plan. Make a list of who you are buying for and what you are buying. Do your homework and find the stores online with the best discounts.
Some stores in Tyson’s that are having great Holiday sales are Express, H&M, Delia’s, Victoria’s Secret, Sony Style, RadioShack, Bath & Body Works and of course, there are always good deals in the department stores.
If you don’t have the transportation or the time to go all the way to the mall then hit up Main Street. There is a Marshall’s in Fair City Mall, tons of restaurants to buy gift certificates to, a game store and a video and DVD store. There is also a place where you can paint your own pottery – what a better gift then one that you’ve made yourself!
Gifts are important for the holidays, but people will understand that you are a student and can’t be luxurious with your spending, plus it’s the thought that counts.
