Broadside is George Mason University’s only official student newspaper. Broadside is published most Monday’s throughout both the fall and spring semester, distributing 6,000 papers weekly throughout the Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William campuses. Broadside is available to over 30,000 students.

Opinions expressed in Broadside are those of the editors or author and not those of George Mason University. Unsigned editorials represent the majority opinion of the editorial board and are the official opinion of the newspaper.

The paper was originally titled The Gunston Ledger, which began in 1963. The Gunston Ledger became Broadside in 1969.
